Hi, I’m Rebecca, I’m 16 years old and I’m currently in my Fifth Year of high school. As well as attending school, I volunteer with Girlguiding as a young leader and I volunteer as a youth coach through my school. I’m also part of an exciting youth council in West Dunbartonshire where we do loads of interesting work involving young people in the area.
I wanted to become an MSYP because I saw the amazing work SYP had already done and I really wanted to be a part of that. As well as this, it’s an amazing way to connect with people from all over Scotland that are passionate about the work they do to help young people. I believe that every young person should have the opportunity to influence decisions that will directly or indirectly affect their lives and future and becoming an MSYP was the best way to allow voices to be heard.
Three important issues I’m passionate about: Equality, wellbeing and education.
Fun fact: I tripped over my own foot and broke my ankle.
