The Scottish Youth Parliament has confirmed Chief Executive Jamie Dunlop will leave his role in early December, and the process to recruit a new leader has started.

Mr Dunlop has been appointed CEO of the Scottish Humanist Society.

The SYP Board said: “On behalf of all at SYP, we thank Jamie for his hard work and dedication as CEO, and wish him well in his new role. The board will now lead a process of recruiting a new CEO who can continue to deliver on our strategic plan and lead SYP into its next chapter.”

Jamie Dunlop said: “I’m very proud of the work of the SYP and the various campaign successes over the years. My decision to take up this new opportunity opens the door for the SYP board to recruit and welcome a new leader to build on the organisation and continue delivering its important work as the democratic voice of Scotland’s young people. I am very much looking forward to taking up my new role as Chief Executive of the Humanist Society Scotland.”
