SYP’s 2012/13 national campaign, One Fair Wage, targeted organisations to pledge their support for a Scottish Living Wage.
SYP believes that the existence of in-work poverty is an atrocity. Everyone in Scotland deserves to earn enough to live on, and it should be a contradiction to be employed while trapped in poverty. We believe a Scottish Living Wage can make a real difference to half a million low-paid Scots. A Scottish Living Wage is a step toward putting an end to poverty in Scotland.
During the One Fair Wage campaign, MSYPs called on politicians, businesses, councils, and third sector organisations to pledge their support for a Scottish Living Wage.
Many businesses and organisations have now signed up to be Living Wage Employers, and in June 2015 the Scottish Government also became a Living Wage accredited employer.
