I am 23 years old and just finished my physics degree at university and I have a weekend job which I love. I do some other volunteering outwith SYP, I am a Cub Scout leader for my local pack.

I wanted to become an MSYP because of the educational attainment gap between blind and sighted students. I had a rubbish school experience as a blind individual and I don’t want anyone else to go through that. Under Article 28 of the UNCRC everyone has a right to education and right now blind students aren’t getting the support they need to succeed which needs to change.

Three important issues I’m passionate about: education attainment gap between blind and sighted students, increasing the number of blind employees and mental health.

Fun fact: I used to do swimming competitively and represented Aberdeen in national competitions.
