Hi, I’m Connor MacLeod, and I’m proud to represent East Kilbride in the Scottish Youth Parliament. I’m passionate about democracy and freedom of speech, and I work to amplify the voices of young people to create real change.
Outside of SYP, I’m also a member of the UK Youth Parliament and regularly collaborate with youth politicians from countries like Cyprus. I also volunteer with Who Dares Cares as part of their peer support team, supporting mental health initiatives.
I’m always keen to hear from young people about the issues that matter to them, so feel free to reach out! I’ve had an interest in politics from a young age and seen too many young people in the Scotland and the UK being underrepresented. I stood to be an MSYP to help change that to ensure young people’s voices are listened to and valued.
Three important issues I’m passionate about: democracy, free speech, and the introduction of the youth mobility scheme across Europe.
Fun fact: I’ve completed the West Highland Way twice and soon to do it again for a third time!
