Engaging Scotland’s Young People

SYP connects young people with local, national, and international decision-making structures to allow them to influence change, and spark an interest in democracy and politics.

Maree Todd, Minister for Public Health, speaking to members of the Scottish Youth Parliament during SYP77 at Greenfaulds High School, Cumbernauld, Saturday July 2nd 2022.

SYP delivers an engagement programme, which is available to schools, colleges, universities, youth groups, and other youth organisations. SYP’s youth engagement sessions are designed and developed by young people, and support leadership and active citizenship to help young people make an impact on the issues they are passionate about.

Members of the SYP staff team, often our Participation Team, deliver engagement sessions throughout Scotland, covering democracy, campaigning, and rights.  These engagement sessions can also be bespoke.
