I am currently 16 and in S5 at high school. I work part time as a waitress and run the debate club at my school. I am also a part of the Rights Respecting School group and we have currently achieved the bronze award. I love reading and I’m trying to read a book written by an author from every country in the world.
I heard about SYP through my current constituency partner. I wanted to become an MSYP because I was frustrated at the lack of youth engagement there was in politics. A lot of my friends felt that politics wasn’t for them when in reality politics should be for everyone. I love being an MSYP as I am able to give seldom heard young people a voice to bring up issues important to them.
Three important issues I’m passionate about: lack of accessible period products in schools, young people knowing their rights and young people being involved in decision making.
Fun fact: I can get goosebumps by just thinking about getting goosebumps.
