I’m 16 and an S5 student studying for my Higher exams! I am also the Chair of the Mearns Youth Forum. I volunteer with Girlguiding as a Rainbows young leader and peer educator in the ‘Breaking Free’ from gender stereotypes programme.
I wanted to become an MSYP because I saw the issues that were impacting young people in my community, and I wanted to help and change this. I also recognised that there was a lack of political engagement among people my age and I wanted to be able to speak up for my peers on issues that affect them.
Three important issues I’m passionate about: Transport, climate change and improving access to free period products in schools and education facilities.
Fun fact: In my spare time I play the piano and love playing and watching rugby.
