I’m 18 years old and currently studying Politics and Social & Public Policy at the University of Glasgow.
I wanted to become an MSYP because I felt the voices of young people in my area were not being heard often enough and our priorities weren’t being communicated effectively. I felt I had the relevant skills to galvanise local young people and encourage them to bring about the positive change they want to see.
Three important issues I’m passionate about: Building relationships between young people and decision makers, educating young men on the effects of undesirable behaviour – such as misogyny, sexism & violence of any kind – and ensuring policy is young person friendly (I hate acronyms!)
Fun fact: Despite living in Inverclyde and my local football team technically being Greenock Morton, I am a Partick Thistle season ticket holder due to my family originally living in Maryhill, Glasgow.
