Biography

MSYP for Stirling

Sophie Kerrigan is a Member of the Scottish Youth Parliament for Stirling and the Deputy Convener for the Education and Lifelong Learning Committee. She plans sessions for the committee to ensure everyone is engaged and has fun during our meetings.

Furthermore, Sophie represents Mid Scotland and Fife in the UK Youth Parliament, where she recently joined the Votes at 16 Committee to represent the views of Scotland’s young people.

Sophie co-facilitates the Education Reform Team within the Scottish Youth Parliament, where she and the team give their views to the Scottish Government to see what young people think about certain topics, such as curriculum reform, learner experience, voice and what makes an empowered learner.

Outside of SYP, Sophie is going to the University of Glasgow to study English literature and Politics. She also works part-time and leads her local youth voice group.
