We’re pleased to announce the election of our new Board this week, who are ready to lead the Scottish Youth Parliament (SYP) to new heights!
Following the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 16 September 2025, the names of the successful candidates were shared with the wider SYP membership, sparking celebrations across social media.
The election took place after Members of the Scottish Youth Parliament (MSYPs) came together at our National Sitting in Paisley earlier this month, where contenders were able to express their views and aspirations for the new Board.
Ellie Craig, who has been re-elected as SYP’s Chair, commented:
“I am truly honoured that my fellow MSYPs have once again placed their trust in me to serve as Chair of SYP. This role has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, helping me to grow both professionally and personally. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue representing their voices in this way.”
“As I step into this new term, I look forward to bringing the experience I have gained to our newly elected Board. We have a fantastic group of young leaders, each with their own strengths and passions.”
“Our focus now is on turning the ambitions of our brand-new manifesto, Dear Scotland’s Future, into reality. This Board is committed to ensuring that the policies we champion reflect the voices of young people across Scotland and make a meaningful difference in their lives.”
Working alongside Ellie, Marcus Flucker, MSYP for Angus South, will take the role of Vice Chair.

As Trustees, we have:
- Daniela Onyewuenyi, MSYP for Paisley

- Ella Quinn, MSYP for Angus South

- Hamish Nott, MSYP for Inverness and Nairn

- Rajsee Saraf, MSYP for Glasgow Pollok

- Jack Anderson, MSYP for Dundee City East

- Sophie Kerrigan, MSYP for Stirling

SYP’s Board is elected annually, and candidates are assessed by a panel before they can stand for election. Further information can be found here.
With the launch of both the new manifesto and our refreshed strategy, the Board will ensure that young people’s priorities remain at the heart of everything SYP does.
